Burnt Mill Lock from above, westwards.
Ladder in lock chamber. But look again; there appears to be the foundations of a swing bridge over the lock.
The fire that named this lock and the settlement nearby occurred in the 19th century, destroying Little Bedwyn Mill, also called Knight's Mill.
A tatty iron and concrete footbridge is provided at Burnt Mill Lock; notice the stop groove in the lock wall.
By a track beside the lock were a pair of old lock gates, top gates - they have no gate paddles.
The iron pivot at the foot of the upright of the gate.
