PLEASE LEAVE / THIS LOCK EMPTY / AFTER USE
Locks on different parts of the Kennet and Avon Canal have different
rules about how to leave the lock; the notices are not fussiness but a
necessary instruction. Some parts of the canal have provision for
overflow water to bypass the lock, others do not.
The BWB sign is one of the really nice logos to come out of the
1980s-90s, so many logos are pretentious and obscure, this is apt and
clear - we like it!
