The culvert carries a stream under the canal from north to south,
where it continues in a swampy, reedy bed across Lower Park Farm to
join the Semington Brook.

When we saw these concrete posts and painted indications we said they
wouldn't last; and aren't they obtrusive. That was only a year or so
ago; how useless.

The bits of fence to mark culverts may appear a bit excessive, but the
burned mark is clear and will last; and it isn't ugly. The stream
sparkles below.
