Prison Bridge has an arch, now used by the towpath, which served the tramroad that ran from Devizes down Caen Hill before the flight of locks was built.
Prison Bridge has an iron footbridge against the east face, obscuring the bridge; and there is a tramroad arch now used by the towpath.

There is a stone tablet set in the western face, off side:-

There is a ?water pipe carried across the bridge, with iron protectors to stop the louts walking on it.
