Semington Bridge
Melksham Without, Wiltshire KAC60.40

KandAC mile 60
Semington Bridge, from the eastward; the blue thing is an air valve.
Semington Bridge carries the A350, a main north-south route, from Warminster to the south, across the canal via Melksham to Chippenham to the north. This makes for a noisy bit of canal; it's soon past.
The bridge was stone but is greatly repaired in red and blue brick, though the stone parapet is retained; 60 miles 40 chains from Reading.
headroom 11ft9ins
depth of water 4ft1ins
An air valve on a water main carried by the bridge; not only small and tidy, but attractive.
Semington Bridge and its unattractive companion footbridge from the eastward.
Semington lies a short way to the south side. There is a little village store, and a pub, the Somerset Arms.
