Kennet and Avon Canal

MEASUREMENTS

Measurements of the length, width, depth of water, etc etc, locks and bridges on the Kennet and Avon Canal are taken from Hammond's maps, published 1979 before much of the canal restoration was made. The measurements are made in imperial units.
Remember
12 inches = 1 foot
and:-
1 inch = 2.540 centimetres
1 foot = 30.48 centimetres

Example - Bridge

Cemetery Road Bridge, bridge 140, west side.
Cemetery Road Bridge is stone built, but much repaired with bricks of different types, the bridge number plate is fairly new; 53 miles 59 chains from Reading.
