Andover, a Cell of Benedictine Monks belonging to the Abbey of St. Florence at Saumur. King William the Conqueror (as the Words of the Deed may imply, Willielmus Rex, qui armis Anglicam terram sibi subjugavit) gave the Church of Andover, with all the Lands and Revenues to the same belonging, to St. Florence; and King Edward II. confirmed the same in the eighth Year of his Reign.
