BRAMSHILL, modern parish carved out of Eversley
An unusual genitival compound, hypothetical Old English 'Bromeshyll'='broom hill'. (Bramshill stands on sandy heathland.) We find the same unrounding of 'o' to 'a' from the 15th century that we find in BRAMSHOTT.
