BRANSBURY, manor in Barton Stacey
Old English 'Brand's manor' (not 'fort'; there is only the earthwork ANDYKE here which is not what is usually called a 'burh'). Brand, like 'Osmund' in OSSEMSLEY, is a name of Scandinavian origin. If 'byrig' (dative case of 'burh') is here 'manor', the place name may be a precise parallel for 'Brondesbury' (Middlesex), where the person named is actually known to history.
