commentary: Two span cast iron bridge, each span 13ft, made by Tasker and Co, Waterloo Ironworks, Abbotts Ann, Hampshire, 1843. The construction is on a 'component' system; ten different components, some used 12 times, slotting together without bolts. The 'keystone' moulding above each arch is inscribed:-

Repaired and strengthened with a reinforced concrete slab, 1980.
