Single arch, span of 40ft, of four cast iron frames resting on stone and
brick abutments, taking the carriage drive over the River Loddon. Perhaps built
to the design of Thomas Wilson, about 1802, probably cast by Walkers, Rotherham,
Yorkshire. The four main arch ribs have spandrels of a series of open circles,
light and graceful. The rectangular cast iron frame at each joint was Wilson's
patent. Restored 1997-98. |
