refce:	Coates 1989 KIMBRIDGE, hamlet in Mottisfont Almost certainly contains Old English 'cyne-'='royal'. Accordingly transformed to 'King-' in the 13th century (1236 'Kingebrigge') but the historically authentic form prevails in the modern place name. Mottisfont was a pre-1066 royal manor.
