29 span viaduct in prestressed concrete built by Christiani and Nielsen,
1955, for Hampshire CC. This was an early use of the material. This replaced an
earlier wooden toll bridge built privately in 1824 and latterly owned by the
British Transport Commission; Hampshire CC ended the tolls. |
