LONG SUTTON
Old English 'south farm', from being south of the ancient royal manor of Odiham. 'Long' distinguishes it from SUTTON SCOTNEY and BISHOP'S SUTTON. It may suggest that the hamlet first straggled along the road from Four Lanes' End to Well.
