commentary: The aqueduct was built to carry a leat from higher up the River Wey across the river to watermeadows on the east side of the old London Road; part of the watermeadow system dating begun in the 15th century. It has a stone arch and faces, with a red brick water channel on top; the channel is now dry. Restored 1970s.
