This is the original end station of the LSWR when it opened from Winchester,
as Southampton Station 10 June 1839, rename Southampton Docks Station July 1858,
Southampton Town and Docks Station September 1896, Southampton Town for Docks
Station November 1912, Southampton Terminus Station from 9 July 1923; the line
from London Vauxhall was completed 11 May 1840. The terminus closed 5 September
1966. |
