TEMPLE FARM in Selborne
The manor was hypothetical Middle English 'Suth in tun'='south in (the) village'. It was granted to the Knights Templar in 1240 and the feudal name has supplanted the older one. The complex 'Temple Soddington alias Temple Sothington' is found as late as 1617.
