Whitewater

refce: Coates 1989
WHITEWATER, stream, left tributary of the Blackwater
Deliberately named in contrast to the BLACKWATER with which it merges at the boundary with Berkshire? There is no obvious reason for the name. Part of its upper reach may in 973 be called 'weargburna'; this is treated under WARNBOROUGH.
