The Kennet and Avon Canal from mile 34 to 35 rises through the Crofton Flight of locks passing Crofton Pumping Station. The Great Western Railway line to the south west is on the north side of the canal. The towpath is on the south side.
The overflow weir above lock 62, at about 34 miles 16 chains; the run off water enters the canal again below the lock.

The wood south of the canal is Wilton Brail.
Crofton Bridge, Grafton
North of Crofton Bridge is a level crossing over the railway. The line of road due north and south is the course of a roman road.

The canal is used to water the cows, a fence is meant to stop them straying along the towpath or falling deeper into the canal. This was in much better order when we last visited this spot.

There are moorings near Wilton Water.
Looking westward from lock 61; boats at the moorings, but the eye is taken by Crofton Pumping Station.
