commentary: 73m 35ch from London Waterloo. Opened as Bishopstoke Station, 10 June 1839, then Bishopstoke Junction from December 1852, it was renamed Eastleigh and Bishopstoke in July 1889, and then Eastleigh Station in July 1923.
The LSWR carriage works began here 1890; and the locomotive works moved from Nine Elms to here 1909.
On 29 November 1841 this became a junction with the line to Gosport, though that line immediately closed then reopened 7 February 1842.
The line from Salisbury and Romsey joined north of here 1847.
