Harrison's Hampshire 1788
The compass rose on Harrison's map of Hampshire is very simple, just the four cardinal points (N,E,S,W) with N marked by spear head, no letters or words. The N-S line is oriented to but offset from the longitude grid; the E-W line lies on the latitude grid.
