previous Christe-Chirche Twinhamburne is a vj. miles above Hurste; and this toun being in Hamptonshire is the limes and the ryver by it of Hamptonshir and Dorsetshire. Minns:- Twinham is the ancient name of Christchurch, from its site between two rivers, the Avon and the Stour, but is not, as our Author states, the limit of the two counties, the town being nearly six miles from the Dorsetshire border. next |
