Seckford
Saxton 1575

Thomas Seckford was a public spirited gentleman of Suffolk. He represented Ipswich in Parliament and was the queen's Master of Requests. In that role he commissioned Saxton to survey and map all the counties of England and Wales. The coat of arms is an acknowledgement of his patronage, in reality the patronage of the government.
