Keer's Hampshire 1605

Symbols
|
Settlements are marked on Keer's map of Hampshire with a dot
and circle plus other elements suggesting their size.
We have referred to the grades of settlement as hamlet,
village or parish, town, and city, for sake of some term
when discussing them.

|
city or town; dot and double circle, and
tower; labelled in lowercase upright lettering. There is
one settlement, Bisthorne north of Christchurch which has dot
and circle but no tower - I am inclined to think this is
a mistake not meaningful.

|
village or hamlet; dot and circle, and
tower; labelled in lowercase italic lettering.
