Kitchin's Hampshire 1767

Miles Thomas Kitchin's road maps of Hampshire have no scale line or other formal indication on the maps.

The scale is implied by the markings on the roads, dot and distance from London or another start of the route.
Scale The scale of the road maps has been estimated by measuring the segments of road from mile spot to mile spot. Mile intervals were measured on two plates. Only straight segments of road were meassured.

The strip map scale, assuming a modern statute mile, is about:-
1 to 160000 2.5 miles to 1 inch
