Parks Parks on Saxton's map of Hampshire are shown by a ring of fence palings. The park might contain a settlement symbol; it is difficult to know when this indicates a hamlet or village, and when just the house in the park (one could ask, what is the difference at the time?). Most parks are drawn roughly circular, but there are a couple of oddities, Hambledon Park, for example. Some parks are labelled.

Making a park, the formal procedure of emparkment, is a privilege granted by the Crown. Many of the parks shown on early maps were emparked in the 12th-14th centuries. Parks on Saxton's map are listed below.

Parks, where possible, have been identified with a location, mostly a park, on a modern map. The modern park name is a label to identify the location and may not exist as a current place name.
